Huang Chin Fu
Huang Chin Fu (born in 1969, Taiwan),
graduated from Dept. of Fine Art Tunghai University in 1992 and Master (MFA) in
2001. He traveled and studied in Spain from 2003, and applied the program
doctoral of "Arte Contemporáneo e Investigación", in the Departamento de Arte,
Universidad de Castilla La Mancha. July of 2012, Huang finished successfully the
Ph.D Doctor with the note APTO "CUM LAUDE" and his thesis
" La perspectiva del arte documento con el diálogo entre
testimonio real y concepto artístico, y sus usos en el campo del arte contemporáneo".
In the early stage, Huang worked as Co-editor at the "Hot Art" magazine in 1994, in that he
exhibited personal works such as "Culture Love Cannel" and "Bodies of the Studio" photographic series.
With the work "Southern Tze-ma-gon" he won the "New Category Award" in the First Annual Taipei
County Ceramic Exhibition in 1996, and in the Summer of the same year he assisted
the famous group exhibition "Tainan-Phenomena" with other locales artists of Tainan in Wu` s Garden.
Which he began the research of creative mission by combining contemporary arts with historical observation
and urbanology. 1997~2001, he worked as co-curator in the gallery "New Phase Art Space", marked as the beginning of his involvement in the cultural observation and multidisciplinary explorations,
during which period he also planned the "Tainan Artistic Movie Festival",
"Thoughts about the Cannel-Exhibition of arts and environment"......etc. In March of 1997,
with the work "The incomprehensible cranial nerve", he got the First Prize winner:
"Kaohsiung Award" in the National Kaohsiung Art Museum.
In June of the same year he went to Boston, USA, worked as one of the co-curator in the international plan "1997 Tainan-Boston Cultural Exchange-Statement of Exchange by
Representatives of Two Cities", responsible for project coordination and editor. April of 1998,
he opened his first solo exhibition: "The Beautiful City" in New Phase Art Space,
sponsored by the National Culture and Arts Foundation.
In October of the same year he got "The Vermont Studio Center Freeman Fellowship 1998-1999 Winner",
and went to work as artist in residency for 3 months.
From 2003, Huang studied and worked in Spain with his doctoral thesis about the documentary image in contemporary art, and finally in 2012 he obtained the academic Ph.D. After academic dissertation,
he began researching and creating his artworks focus in the context "The Spectacle
Society", and with the project "City Story Series" successfully applied for the programs
"International Artist Residency in Shangyuan Art Museum" and "Artist Residency Programme in
Inside-Out Art Museum" in Beijing, China. 2014 he was invited to participate the
program "Representing Society" in "YES, TAIWAN",
